Software : Flash v4
Tutorial : Funky backgrounds using flash ...

Step 1.
Boot Flash ... for this tutorial im using flash version 4.

Step 2.
Draw a simple shape in flash ... for this tutorial im going to use arrows you could use any shape.


Step 3.
Draw some lines to make your shape look 3D ... and colour it in using the fill tool ....



Step 4.
Select your shape and convert it to a symbol by pressing F8, give it a name and select graphic on the symbol properties menu ...


Step 5.
Repeat steps 1-4 until you have about 10-15 different shapes ....


Step 6.
If you really want to go all out ... open your library by clicking window library, or press CTRL+L ...


Now select one of your symbols by right clicking it in the library list ... and select Duplicate


Give this symbol a new name ...


Now double click your newly created symbol in the library list ...


Edit this symbol so it's slightly different to your original ...


Repeat the above process depending how detailed you wish to make your final piece.

Step 7.
The fun bit ... now all the hard works been done all you need to do is position your shapes/arrows on the main stage.

You can really create some stunning effects in minutes and once you have the symbols in your library you can use them over and over again.
