: Flash v4
Tutorial : Simple key frame animation.
Step 1.
Boot Flash ... for this tutorial im using flash version 4.
Step 2.
Create a simple shape like so.
Step 3.
Convert the shape into a symbol.
By selecting your shape and choosing 'insert' - 'convert to symbol'.
(F8)

Select graphic from the symbol menu and give your shape/symbol a name,
then click ok.
The reason for converting your shape into a symbol is, if we have to
edit the symbol at a later point in time you just edit the master and
it will update any copies of the object throughout you movie/animation.
Step 4.
Add a new key frame, by clicking right on frame 10 on your time line
and selecting 'insert key frame'
Step 5.
Select the new keyframe
Step 6.
Move your symbol to its new location somthing like this.
Step 7.
Click right on the time line in between the two keyframes you just created
and choose 'properties'.
Now click on the 'tweening' tab at the top, and select motion tweening
from the drop down.
Click OK ... and give yourself a pat on the back ... when you click
play now your symbol should move from A to B nice and smoothly.
Experiment by scaling your symbol on the key frames, also try changing
the variables under the tweening menu see what happens and if you wish
to change the transparency of your object / RGB values select a keyframe
and double click your symbol to open the symbols key frame properties.
NB.
To animate a line of text moving across the screen you need also to
convert it into a symbol
